AstraZeneca admits that its COVID vaccine can induce thrombosis

AstraZeneca has for the first time admitted in court that its COVID-19 vaccine can cause a rare dangerous side effect - thrombosis, BELTA reports citing Izvestia.

The admission was voiced during the proceedings of a class action lawsuit in which dozens of families claim that they or their loved ones were crippled by the company's "defective" vaccine.

It is noted that the lawyers who are representing the plaintiffs believe that in some cases the compensation for damages could be as much as £20 million.

AstraZeneca disputes the claims in a legal document the company submitted to the court in February, in which it admits that the vaccine "may in very rare cases cause blood clots".

A total of 51 lawsuits have been filed in London's High Court. AstraZeneca said in a statement that the company sympathizes with anyone who may have suffered a side effect from the vaccine.

One of the claims, according to the publication, was filed last year by Jamie Scott, who suffered a blood clot and brain hemorrhage after being injected with the vaccine in April 2021, resulting in permanent brain damage.

In 2021, the media repeatedly wrote about the negative impact of AstraZeneca on health, including fatal cases after vaccination with the drug. Thus, on June 11, it was reported that the Genoa prosecutor's office is investigating the death of 18-year-old Camille Canepa after receiving AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine.
