Head of European Commission to be put on trial

The court of Liège begins consideration of the lawsuit against Ursula von der Leyen. The case concerns violations of the procurement of vaccines at the height of the pandemic. The European official is accused of concluding a contract for the purchase of a vaccine from Pfizer, the tests of which have not yet been completed, without the agreement of the EU countries. Today, the first stage is deciding whether the case should be tried in a Belgian court or whether it is within the competence of the European Court of Justice.
