Integration plans were discussed today at the Palace of Independence. Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev. Minsk and Moscow have long been building their cooperation within this unique association of sovereign countries. Belarus and Russia are not only strategic allies, but also the most important trade and economic partners. This is of particular importance and brings tangible benefits against the background of the difficult global situation and strong sanctions pressure. A serious and principled conversation is planned ahead. Just now Minsk and Moscow are preparing for the Supreme State Council of the Union State.

"The meeting of the Supreme State Council (the supreme body of our Union State) - there is an approximate agenda, let's say. No one prohibits anyone to make proposals and changes up to the consideration and approval of it, including at the meeting of the Supreme State Council. The priority issue is the implementation of union programs," said the Belarusian head of state. - We have always stated that we are doing a good job here. The conversation will be serious and principled.

Alexander Lukashenko also said that he is planning to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a one-on-one format. "We'll discuss the issues of principle. If there are any additions to the proposed agenda, we will make such proposals right at the meeting of the Supreme State Council," said the Belarusian leader.
