23 мая 2019
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent a greeting  to its participants and guests. It is symbolic that in the year of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the venue for the forum was Brest, the city that bravely took the first blows of the enemy.

"Our peoples have accomplished a great feat: they defended their freedom and independence in that war, because they were together. Today, we  should also be together to  preserve common history, prevent the revision and falsification of the heroic past, make  a choice in favor of the journalism of truth, justice and objectivity", the greeting says.

Journalists from 25 countries today arrived in Brest. Among them are the UK, USA, Germany, Armenia, Italy, Russia and Hungary. They will discuss information security, the impact of social networks on society, as well as modern trends in journalism. In addition, they touched upon the development of regional media and the problem of disinformation in modern publications. The current media forum in Belarus is the 14th in a row. And the first one, which is carried out outside Minsk.

Exchange of experience is one of the main goals of the forum. Leading experts from Russia and Belarus will take the floor as speakers ... Discussions will be held at four venues. The forum will end tomorrow.
