Thousands of coloured lights will be lit up on Belarus’ main New Year tree and another 23 New Year trees across the city. The designs will also be illuminated from the inside with LED lamps. This year, festive lights will for the first time be lit on Mayakovsky Street along Loshitsa Park and around Komarovsky Market. A LED board with New Year wishes for Minsk residents will be installed on Independence Avenue near the building of the State Circus.
Multicoloured lights and festive constructions will be lit up for both Catholic and Orthodox Christmas, and of course, for New Year's Eve. The New Year trees, however, will be lit up every night till the old style New Year.
