Promising and sought-after know-how for various areas of economy was presented by Minsk Tractor Works. The up-to-date developments include an unmanned tractor of 350 HP. The unmanned vehicle is a joint work of the plant and  Belarusian scientists. Now the prototype is undergoing a test drive in the fields with the attached units. The drone is run by an operator via a computer. According to specialists, such a vehicle saves fuel, and the use of a hybrid electric unit makes it possible to reduce emissions of harmful substances by a factor of 10.

Alexander Belevich, head of the Scientific-Engineering Centre of the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: Initially, the tractor is given a map of the field. The system maps the route and the tractor continues to drive autonomously. It is additionally equipped with cameras and sensors. They will stop it if there is an obstacle in its way.

In general, according to the MTZ holding management, one of the general objectives today is the production of multipurpose vehicles with large export potential.

Vitaliy Volk, general director of MTZ: We have already developed a tractor for cargo and luggage delivery to aircrafts. We work with communal services under the Clean City programme. We are actively engaged in the topic of forestry and road maintenance.

Today MTZ exports its machinery to almost fifty countries worldwide. A landmark figure in the history of the plant is also expected this year - this autumn the 4 millionth Belarus tractor will be produced.
