President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said about the need to establish unified strict rules of the game for passenger road transportation. He said this at a meeting on passenger transportation, reports BelTA.

"We approach this issue not only because there have been a number of accidents on the roads, but also because there is much disorder in our life. And since this is the safety of people, our citizens (I'm not talking about cabs, there are enough abuses there), this issue should be addressed," said the Belarusian leader.

"Today we need to thoroughly understand and establish uniform rules of the game for all. Tough, transparent and clear. No one should be pressured, hunted, fired, etc. The rules of the game are the same for everyone! For legal and illegal, organized and unorganized. The same rules. A step to the left, a step to the right... It is necessary to determine what functions the state will assume as a regulator: how total control will be exercised in this sphere, what additional responsibilities the carriers will have," the President said.

The head of state noted that the issue of passenger road transportation concerns shuttle buses that run in cities and between settlements, the cab cars.

"The state has simple requirements to this sphere. The main one is the safety of people."
