Swiss politician, political scientist and journalist Guy Mettan shared his impressions of the conference "Eurasian security: reality and prospects in a transforming world", which was held in Minsk.
"It was interesting to take part in the conference, excellent analysis of the situation. Many ways were also suggested to restore the dialogue, how we can contribute to building bridges between Western Europe and the East, especially with Belarus.
The politician added that this is very difficult, because in Western Europe there is a kind of hysteria against the Russian, against a good conversation with Russians. And this is very difficult to overcome.
"I myself have become a victim of these processes. When I return to Switzerland, from time to time I am attacked by our mainstream media just for speaking here and trying to establish a dialogue, to build bridges. But I am optimistic. I think that if Asia, if China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia cooperate, sooner or later Europe will just have to open its doors again in order to also stop military actions in the territory of Ukraine," Mr. Mettan said.
