Chairman of House of Representatives of Belarus Sergeenko meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Minsk

The Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus Igor Sergeenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey Güçlü Cem İşık in Minsk. The parties discussed the prospects for further deepening of the Belarusian-Turkish dialog.

Igor Sergeenko emphasized that Alexander Lukashenko and Recep Tayyip Erdogan openly exchange views on bilateral interaction, international issues, on the development and strengthening of relations between the countries. Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives said that the Belarusian-Turkish relations are developing dynamically.

The economy is developing. Suffice it to say that for the last few years we have been at the level of $1 billion in trade turnover. We are very confidently moving towards the target of $1.5 billion. There are positive results in trade in services as well. Investment cooperation is important for the Belarusian side. More than 120 companies with Turkish capital operate in Belarus. More than 100 companies with Belarusian capital operate in Turkey. Humanitarian cooperation is also at a good level in education, science and culture.
