Belarus to build settlement for 420 families in Karabakh

Belarus will build a settlement for 420 families in Karabakh. The agreements were reached during the visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Azerbaijan. The two countries have been cooperating in the construction sector for a number of years. But so far the main emphasis has been on the development of urban planning and design documentation, exchange of normative base and technologies. It is planned that the new facility will be built in Aghdam district in the central part of Azerbaijan. Belarusian flavor will be used in its architecture.

Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev visited the revitalized territories today. Thus, Fizuli will be returned under the control of Azerbaijan in October 2020. This city has great transportation and logistics potential. According to the general plan, by 2040 the population will increase to 50 thousand people (now only a few thousand).

The Presidents also toured one of the residential neighborhoods in Shusha. The city was founded in the 18th century. This year it was declared the cultural capital of the Islamic world. Alexander Lukashenko presented Belarusian tractor equipment to the city. Now restoration works are being carried out in Shusha, housing is also being built.

Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev held official talks on the eve. One of the topics was the post-war reconstruction of the territories.
