Greeks protest against unconstitutional actions of the government. More than 12 thousand students held a mass rally in front of the parliament in the center of Athens against the bill being discussed there, which would allow the establishment of private universities and branches of foreign universities in the country. There were clashes between the protesters and the police - the police used rubber truncheons and tear gas.

Despite the mass discontent of students and university staff, the scandalous bill was passed. Opponents of private universities are sure that the innovations will devalue the diplomas of state universities, worsen their financing, and eventually force them out of the market. And paid education will completely eradicate free education.
