US may continue airstrikes on Houthi positions in Yemen

A coalition of countries led by the United States in a joint statement called the overnight attack on Yemen legitimate self-defense. It is noted that more than two dozen attacks on commercial vessels by the Houthis since mid-November is an international challenge. At the same time, the U.S. "if necessary" can launch new strikes.

The Ansar Allah group says the attackers will "pay a heavy price" for a massive strike. As noted by the Wall Street Journal, the Hussites in anticipation of the attack managed to transport and hide some of their weapons and military equipment.

Washington and London began the military operation last night. The strikes hit the movement's bases in several cities, including the Yemeni capital. Currently, there are more than 200 ships in the waters of the Red Sea. The skies over Yemen are closed for civil aviation.
