The first casualties of US humanitarian aid: in the north of the Gaza Strip, 5 people were killed and more than 10 injured after airplanes of the Jordanian and US air forces dropped food parcels. Footage from social media shows that the parachutes on part of the boxes became entangled and the cargo collapsed on populated neighborhoods.
This way of delivering aid has already been criticized by many international organizations. Gaza authorities have warned of the possible danger of such operations, because the enclave is densely populated and there are no large areas to receive supplies by air.
