Russian special operation to demilitarize Ukraine - no threat to civilians

24 февраля 2022

A Russian special operation to demilitarize Ukraine has been underway for several hours. Against this background, Ukraine itself is closing its airspace. Also, the operation of 12 Russian airports is suspended until March 2. Ukrainian President Zelensky gathered an urgent meeting of the National Security and Defense Council. In his address, he first announced that he had held talks with Biden. Later it became known that the martial law was being introduced in the country. A general evacuation was announced in the Kiev-controlled part of Lugansk Region. The situation in the DNR is also turbulent.

Despite all the ostensible preparations for the invasion, the warning system in Kiev went off only four hours later. The residents of the capital began to leave the city en masse. There are long lines of cars at gas stations in Ukrainian cities.

People are urged to move into bomb shelters. In Kharkov, people in the absence of shelters, are descending into the subway.
