Paris is seriously thinking about war. In an interview with Le Monde, the chief of staff of the French ground forces said that the national army is preparing to participate in the "toughest" conflicts.

Pierre Schille said the country is building up its combat power to "deter attack" while relying on its nuclear arsenal and a "trained army compatible with allied armies," especially in Europe. According to the military, France is capable of deploying 20,000 soldiers for up to 30 days, as well as commanding a force of up to 60,000, including allied armies.
