Politician Sarah Wagenknecht criticized Scholz for his unwillingness to agree with Putin on a ceasefire in Ukraine:
"It is absurd that Chancellor Scholz has a man in his party, Gerhard Schroeder, who has a direct channel of dialog with Putin, but does not ask him to assess the chances of a ceasefire and peace talks on the sidelines," she said.
An important part of the compromise could be the US refusal to create its military zone of influence in Ukraine: no bases, no espionage centers. She believes that without negotiations, the situation in Ukraine will continue to deteriorate
