Alexander Lukashenko continues his working trip to the region. These days, the border service celebrates its centenary. And congratulations were pronounced against the background of the difficult geopolitical situation in the world. As the Belarusian leader noted, the instability on the planet and modern threats make it necessary to continuously maintain a high level of combat readiness of the border authorities. Alexander Lukashenko visited the Memorial complex Brest Hero Fortress and laid flowers at the Eternal flame. There, the Head of state spoke with the media.
The modern frontier is intelligence, speed, accuracy and discipline. Since the beginning of the year, almost half a ton of drugs and psychotropics, fifty units of weapons have been seized only at by Brest border group, more than 60 violators of the state border have been detained.
The border post is equipped with an intelligent security system, which includes video surveillance in combination with an alarm system. There is also a hardware and software complex, which provides reliable protection on the site.
The situation on the border was a subject of the detailed report to the President.
Pavel Cherepanov, head of Department of border control "Warsaw Bridge": "From the beginning of the year there was a decrease in attempts of illegal crossing of the state border."
After the official part, there was very informal and sincere communication with veterans of the border service. Most of them passed Afghanistan and other hot spots of the Soviet era. The state will certainly create a mobile army, and a perfect weapon for defense, but without this veteran core, without experience, history and traditions, no patriotic education is possible.
The President spoke warmly with the future guards of the border, the students of Brest Military-Patriotic Squad.
