Cooperation with a long history and good prospects. Minsk and Baku have confirmed the strategic nature of relations. President of Belarus is on a state visit to Azerbaijan these days.

Three years have passed since the last meeting in Baku. The leaders are determined to revise the relations, especially since there are no obstacles to this. Our countries are linked by strong ties of friendship, warm personal relations of the presidents and mutual interest in long-term partnership. Ilham Aliyev personally met Alexander Lukashenko at the Zagulba Palace on the Caspian coast.

The talks were preceded by a ceremony with the participation of a company of honor guard. Another obligatory tradition is photographing the leaders. Only after that the heads of state started negotiations. The meeting was held behind closed doors, the leaders talked for about an hour and a half. Then members of the delegations joined them.

It is easy for our countries to conduct dialog. Minsk and Baku have always managed to build relations on the principles of mutual respect. This is a strong foundation for economic cooperation. In recent years, our countries have accomplished a lot of the planned goals. Mutual trade has reached 400 million dollars. The supplies of our products have significantly increased. The expansion of trade and economic interaction, further cooperation in industry and agriculture have obvious prospects for further work.
