President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko commented on Vladimir Putin's victory in the Russian presidential election at a meeting at the Palace of Independence on March 18, BELTA reports.
"I Just had a word with the President of Russia, congratulated him on the results of the presidential election in the Russian Federation. I asked to convey my gratitude first of all, of course, to those present here and other persons who helped to organize the presidential election in Russia (we had six polling stations)," said Alexander Lukashenko. - The election was organized like nowhere else. No matter how the West tried to sway us here, the results were very good. The Russian Embassy worked very well in contact with our officials. That is why I pass on his gratitude for the work and organization of the Russian presidential election in Belarus. "
The head of state noted that the absolute majority of voters cast their votes for the incumbent President. "Of course, the result is overwhelming," said the Belarusian leader. - The results are very serious, and the turnout was very high. There has never been such a turnout in the Russian Federation. Therefore, with a high turnout, such results are to some extent even unexpected. This was my position and I expressed it to him.
Alexander Lukashenko added that one should draw lessons from any events. This time the most important lesson, according to him, is that no one should not impose its will on the peoples of Belarus and Russia.
"If you try to do that, people will do the opposite, no matter how difficult it is. That's why the known forces failed to impose this will on the Russians. They are good, they got together during this election period and proved who is the master in the house. Secondly, it was a serious signal to the West, which was betting on rocking Russia from within. If it doesn't work on the front, then it must be rocked from within. That didn't work either. And thirdly, we must realize that this is also a lesson for us. On the threshold of 2025, our elections, we should carefully study the preparation of these elections," the President emphasized.
The head of state said that the Presidential Administration had brilliantly planned and organized the election process. "Naturally, the President had to work a lot, you have seen it. An incredible amount of work. He did well, he traveled all over Russia, visited different places and answered the burning questions of the Russian society. The planning of the pre-election process and the course of the election campaign itself was very good. There is a lot to learn. Everyone was mobilized and united - according to the plan of the Presidential Administration. Everyone performed patriotically and produced excellent results. This is a lesson for us," drew attention of the Belarusian leader.
