Presidents of Belarus and Russia Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin have visited the world's largest hockey stadium, the newly built SKA Arena, in St. Petersburg, BELTA reports.

Before that, the heads of state together in the format of a videoconference took part in the event on the commissioning of a new wintering complex at the station "Vostok" in Antarctica. After the event, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin spent a long time talking one-on-one.

"SKA Arena" is a hockey stadium of the SKA club in St. Petersburg. The construction work began in 2020 and was completed in 2023. The arena can accommodate more than 21.5 thousand spectators for hockey matches, which makes it the largest hockey stadium in the world.

The presidents were told about the construction and features of the new arena, the technical and design solutions used.

"They have done a great job," said the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin toured various rooms of the SKA Arena, familiarized themselves with the conditions created for both players and fans.

The heads of state warmly talked to the SKA players and watched the training on the ice. The leaders of the countries were given hockey jerseys with the team's symbols as a memento.

"I dream that "Dynamo", Minsk will sometimes win here!" - said Alexander Lukashenko.
