The head of state said that the talks were held in an exceptionally open, friendly, fraternal atmosphere, were informative and productive.

"We considered a wide range of issues and confirmed the fundamental focus on building cooperation in all areas where Minsk and Tashkent have joint projects," said Alexander Lukashenko.

According to him, first of all, it's about trade and economic sphere. In general, the countries have good results here. Last year, the trade turnover exceeded a new historical maximum of half a billion dollars.

"Nevertheless, we realize that the reserves are huge," the President emphasized.

About interregional cooperation

One of them is the creation of new and expansion of existing partnerships at the level of regions of the two countries. "And the forum of regions held the day before in Tashkent confirmed this. Unfortunately, during the period of the pandemic, contacts have weakened somewhere. But now is the time to resume them and fill them with concrete projects. There are quite a few of them," the Belarusian leader said.
