Experts sum up first results of Eurasian Economic Council

Svetlana Konopatskaya: The main discussion was related to the Treaty on Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. This will be the basic document for the Eurasian Union. The meeting was presided by the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, who clearly stated the position of our country.

Victor Khristenko, the Chair of the Eurasian Commission, informed the members of the commission on the performed work. Belarus insists on lifting all limitations on the flow of goods, services, capital and working force.

Another issue is expansion of the borders of the Eurasian Union. A road map for Armenia was discussed in Minsk.

The Eurasian Union may become a powerful force. This international organization is going to enhance the positions of its member-states among the world community.

Minsk summit could not avoid the situation in Ukraine. Next time the member-states are going to meet in Astana late May, when the Treaty on Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is going to be signed.
