The President emphasized that careful attitude to the heroic past is the basis for the development of close contacts in various areas.

Minsk and St. Petersburg have a good basis. Economic contacts reached a high level in the pre-pandemic times. Today the partners expect to come close to the former indicators. St. Petersburg is undergoing a number of reforms - urban amenities, public transport, construction. And Belarus can assist in the renovation of the northern capital.

Regional cooperation between Belarus and Russia

There have already been agreements on supplies of Belarusian buses to the northern Russian capital. All obligations will be strictly fulfilled, Alexander Lukashenko assured. The next stage of cooperation in this field could be the supplies of electric transport. And Belarus has something to offer here as well. The President also expressed his special feelings towards the citizens of St. Petersburg because after the war they helped rebuild the Belarusian capital. Our people remember that help and support, assured the Belarusian leader. The historical accent of this meeting was also noted by the Russian Governor.

А. Beglov: I was struck by your appreciation of history

The St. Petersburg delegation has an extensive program. It is not only visiting the largest manufacturers of equipment and discussing the prospects of industrial cooperation.
