Zapad-2021: about 200,000 servicemen take part in 14 Belarusian and Russian training ranges in the Baltic Sea

Zapad-2021 exercises are underway in Belarus and Russia these days. These exercises are, in fact, the final stage of the two years` training of the Armed Forces of the two countries.

About 200 thousand servicemen participate in it on 14 Belarusian and Russian training grounds as well as in the waters of the Baltic Sea.

On September 12, Alexander Lukashenko inspected the work of the military at Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground, and today Vladimir Putin is visiting the training ground Mulino in Nizhny Novgorod region.

The units of the Baltic Fleet organized the defense of the sea coast and conducted a landing operation and marines of the Northern Fleet. According to the legend of the exercise, the military should carry out the capture of the bridge and ensure the landing of marines for the offensive deep into unfamiliar territory defended by marines of the Baltic Fleet.

The coalition grouping at the Mulino training range is represented by seven countries, including Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and India. The final part of the exercise involved a vast arsenal of the military equipment, including robots.

The day before Alexander Lukashenko personally observed the maneuvers at the Obuz-Lesnovsky firing range near Baranovichi.  All units successfully accomplished their tasks - the President's assessment is the highest! The focus of the exercise was on defensive combat. The challenges of the time and the unfriendly situation around us force us to keep our powder dry. Alexander Lukashenko told journalists on Sunday: "We are not aiming our missiles at neighboring countries. We are getting ready to defend our own land."

Belarus invited international organizations, including those from the U.S. and the EU to observe the exercises - the country follows all the principles of openness. But the invitation was predictably ignored.  However, it is their right.

These days in Kazakhstan, our rocket fighters test the capabilities of multiple launch missile systems "Smerch" and "Polonez" as well as the tactical complex "Tochka". Launches were conducted at ranges from 40 to 100 kilometers. More than 100 vehicles were involved in the exercise. Great work of specialists of communication and electronic warfare troops, missile and artillery armament, navigation and topographic service can be seen, the unmanned aerial vehicles ensured that the missile units fulfilled their tasks in time and with high accuracy. As a result, the missiles' deviation from the targets was a matter of meters.

Gennady Kozlovsky, Head of Missile Forces and Artillery of the Armed Forces of Belarus: "All tasks were performed with the highest quality and the highest accuracy.  Once again the missile troops confirmed their high-precision characteristics".
