Vitebsk immortalizes Lieutenant Sergey Chernyshev

15 февраля 2017

His life stopped in the skies over Afghanistan. A graduate of Syzran Military Aviation School, a navigator and pilot of a helicopter served in Afghanistan for less than a month, but in that time he managed to make 19 flights. In the last one the entire crew of the helicopter was killed. Lieutenant Chernyshev was 23 years old. Posthumously he was awarded the Order of the Red Star.

Love Chernyshev's widow:

"Despite the fact that so many years have passed, the pain still remains. At the same time we are proud of our soldiers who met the expectations of our state, war and helped the people of Afghanistan."

In the region we are working to perpetuate the memory of the fallen.
