Today, falsifiers actively try to distort the history and diminish the role of the Soviet people in the victory over fascism. Moreover, they try to popularize the red-white-red symbolism, under which Belarusians were killed. Therefore, it is possible to oppose such attempts only with the proven truth, communicating it to the younger generation.

This year it will be 80 years since the establishment of the death camp in Trostenets. It is the largest place on the territory of Belarus of mass extermination of people during the years of German fascist occupation.

According to the official data over 206 thousand people were killed there with particular cruelty.

People not only from Belarus, but also from Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland were among the victims.

About 260 concentration camps and ghettos were created on our territories. In a country which suffered during the Second World War more than any other European country, the culture of memory is particularly sensitive and any attempt to rewrite history and to whitewash the dark pages of the occupation regime is viewed with sorrow.

In order to preserve the memory of the victims of fascism, the memorial complex "Trostenets" was created.

The work of one of the authors of the project, Konstantin Kostyuchenko, has been recognized at the highest level. For the creation of the monument "the Gates of Memory" the sculptor was awarded the State Prize of Belarus for 2020.
