Belarus swung into outer space back in the early noughties, when the task of having its own satellite was set. This was stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to Kazakhstan Pavel Utyupin in an interview with ATN correspondent.
"We need to go back in history a bit and note the foresight of our President. Back in the early noughties we were already swinging into outer space, when the task of having our own satellite was set. Today we have several satellites in Earth orbit: a remote sensing satellite, an academic satellite of the Belarusian State University, a communication and broadcasting satellite," said Pavel Utyupin.
