The bloodiest war of the 21st century started 74 years ago. It took 27 million people. Belarus was the first to oppose the strike of fascists. Our nation deployed a large-scale resistance movement. No families remained untouched by the war.

About 12,000 residents of Brest came to Brest Fortress to lay flowers and wreathes in honor of the victims. Patriarch Kirill said that his uncle was missing here in 1942.

An improvised battle was held in the morning by members of historic clubs from CIS, Western Europe and even Japan.
