Christmas, one of the main Christian holidays, is celebrated by Orthodox believers around the world.
The festive divine service in Minsk Holy Spirit Cathedral was headed by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Pavel.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Orthodox Christians on Christmas. By tradition, the Head of State attended the Christmas service at the Holy Spirit Cathedral. Students of the Sunday school congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on the great holiday. The President presented the children Christmas gifts. Together with Metropolitan Pavel, Alexander Lukashenko lit a Christmas candle at the miraculous icon of the Minsk Mother of God.
