Belarus plans to equip the Antarctic station with a laboratory of meteorological observations in the coming season. This became known at the meeting of the 10th jubilee expedition. So, our country will be one of the few who can perform the most important climate observations at the South Pole. In two years later, the first winter stay of Belarusian polar explorers is planned in Antarctica. To do this, it is necessary to complete the second stage of the polar station, the block of the medical building.
Alexey Gaidashov, the head of the Belarusian Antarctic Expedition: "The meteorological automatic station will transmit information via the satellite to the World Meteorological Organization, then we will be ahead of the whole planet, in the forefront."
Within two weeks, Belarus has a chance to join the Scientific Committee for the Study of Antarctica. A delegation from the National Academy of Sciences will send a letter to Switzerland to protect the application.
