The authorities of the Belarusian capital are considering the issue of creating shelters for domestic and wild animals in the city. Oleg Korzun, deputy chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee, shared the details, writes the agency "Minsk-Novosti."

"The "Fauna of the city" is functioning in the capital. The pets arrive there every day, which are then kept at the enterprise until their transfer to the owners or animal welfare organizations. However, the "Fauna of the City" has other functions, it is a temporary detention center for neglected animals. That's why we are now working closely with animal rights activists, we have a mutual understanding," Korzun said. - A similar situation arises with wild animals that need help on the territory of the city. For them there is no special place of keeping. This issue was raised by the capital ecologists. In the near future we are planning a meeting with all interested parties to discuss these issues and find solutions that will allow us not to leave our lesser brothers in trouble".
