President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is focused on quality assurance in higher education, not on the next innovations. This was stated by the head of state at a meeting with members of the Republican Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions, BelTA informs.

Belarus has devoted almost a year to the most pressing issues of education, and now it's only necessary to finalize the already defined approaches. "We have made final decisions on the organization of the entrance campaign to universities, dealt with school education. We have put an end to this topic. Now we need to fine-tune specific approaches. Today we have a task to shake up the universities: education, science in universities - everything that universities do," said the Belarusian leader.

He instructed the rectors of universities to make the necessary decisions together with their teams by September 1. The benchmark is to ensure quality education, including in comparison with foreign ones. "Your graduates should clearly realize and understand that our university education in Belarus is the best. Many people who ran away abroad for education quickly begin to realize the difference. Many come back, but not all of them. There shouldn't be such a thing. And these are programs, teaching, teachers and quality results. How you do it is your problem. But before September, I'm warning the government, the administration and the minister, it should be done.
