A few thousand euros, dreams of European wealth and a hole in the pocket instead of passport

11 декабря 2022

Is European citizenship a dream? How much is it worth to be related to a Romanian grandparent or Polish grandfather? Only a few thousand euros, and dreams of European wealth are right there, but no, instead of a passport, you get a hole in your pocket.

A fake Romanian grandmother or an equally original Polish grandfather - just a few thousand euros, and dreams of European wealth - here they are, but no, instead of a passport, you get a hole in your pocket.

These are many sites that claim to help Belarusians emigrate quickly and effectively to Europe. The price tag is high, and the result is supposedly 98.5% and without unnecessary red tape.  The layout, contacts, addresses are standard. Yet, there are no office numbers and real people, only feedback on how cool, easy and fun the procedure was for the lucky repatriates.

So, we dial a few numbers of the Euro experts whose offices are kind of located in Minsk.  But after checking, it turns out there are no offices anymore. Yet, someone existed earlier. Gootoeu and Europriority. Relocation services to Poland, Romania, Bulgaria - full escort on the way to the European Union. Polish card - 2,000 euros. However, it is not recommended to go to Poland.

"If Poland is considered, it will not be entirely simple in this regard. An alternative could be considered. I'll offer you the Romanian citizenship right away. It's more popular... As it is very fast. And with a EU passport, you will be able to live in any EU country."

"You get the documents. Romania gets paid for you. They had been part of the EU since 2007 and accordingly received funding, which in turn depended on the number of citizens. Therefore, they artificially increase the number of their citizens in the country and receive more funding.”

There is no guarantee that the Polish card will be an ace. Romania is different. And such a Romanian attraction will cost just 4 thousand euros. The repatriation program offers to find my "once lost" Romanian roots.

In Romania, there is a territorial reference. What does that mean? That means our lawyers need to prove that one of your ancestors lived in the lands of Bessarabia and Bukovina. If we are talking specifically about this procedure, it is possible to work with the Ukrainian archives.

- What if it turns out that there were no people in my family who lived in Romania?

- Nobody of my ancestors lived there either, but in 2017 I got a Romanian passport. Legally, proving that your ancestors were there is much easier than proving otherwise that they weren't there.

Compiling a family tree. We will fish for Euro priorities on geography and history. Grandma's place of birth: Myshkovici, Kharkiv Region. Yet, there has never been such a village near Kharkiv, this is a Belarusian agrotown in the Mogilev Region. By the way, Kharkiv was never Romanian either. And the bingo consultant confirms the answer came from the Ukrainian archive: my grandmother lived in Romania.

It's worth noting that the pedigree I sent to the fraudsters was the made-up Goryuchko Ekaterina Albertovna and her grandmother.

- So with Grandma, I'm 100% guaranteed, is that what we get?

- Yes, all the necessary documents for the restoration of citizenship will be restored.

And GooToEU offers to buy a fake birth metric for 1918-1940 supposedly legally.

If they weren't there, what would I bring to Romania?

We will demand the production of a document - a duplicate birth certificate that says your grandparents were born in these territories.

And I'm trying to understand how they are going to demand it. I want to understand how we can claim documents for people who have never lived there?

How do you prove they didn't live there?

Are you suggesting we create some sort of certificate that they lived there?

Roughly speaking, yes. But it's all in the legal field.

In general, of course, they work hard - the slightest bit of doubt, and we have documents in our hands that should clear all doubts and confirm the full officiality and seriousness of their activities. It turned out, however, that the database of the Romanian registry revealed extremely interesting details. Now it won't be easy, but let's show it schematically to understand the connections of Euro-citizenship givers.

GooToEU, which is its legal name, sent us their documents. The director is someone named Stefania Carmen Citu. She's the director of another firm, CWS Group Development, which is the legal name of both GootoEU and Altapatri, whose agent was recently detained in Minsk. We’ll talk about him later. So, the type of activity: "data transfer, administration of web pages and related actions," but not related to document flow and citizenship. CWS Group Development is another guarantor of the European future of Trust Group PRO. Europriority according to the documents was registered in 2009, although the consultant forgot to tell that the firm had suspended its activities since September. Only one person worked there, but they didn't forget 4,000 euros to profit from the errant Belarusian soul. It's a small thing that the firm doesn't work.

A number of companies had offices in Minsk starting from 2018. So you can make a contract on the spot and pay the money. We found one of Development's former employees. He got a job in 2019, but did not work long when he realized he was dealing with scammers, he quit.

Former employee of Altapatri Minsk Office (CWS Group Development SRL):

I advised people about the possibility of going through the repatriation process in the 1991 Romanian programme. There is such a law, but how it actually works is another thing.  It was stipulated that Ukraine is a corrupt country, and in civil registries everything is decided by money. I found out something was wrong, and I wanted to get rid of it so I wouldn't mess up my karma either, and it wasn't my plan to cheat people.

The Minsk offices of Altapatri, Europeriority, GooToEU and Trust Group PRO have been operational since 2018, and local staff were required to liaise with the so-called Romanian headquarters and conduct on-site consultations. Was it Romanian headquarters? Where it is really located is a big question. The pattern is murky. Consultants on the other side of the wire have, on several occasions, accompanied people on their way to the European dream, stamping fake relatives, even registering papers for citizenship. They got paid and went missing. And the lucky holder of new roots in Bucharest or Warsaw received only a kick from the authorities and a ban from the EU.

They got missing after paying an advance.

Those Europriority crooks almost robbed me of my original documents!

These creeps of faggots are screwing everyone! Bitches! Then they accuse you of being liable, file a police report against you.

This is a Belarusian case. Correspondence of clients of the Development office in Minsk with consultants:

"I came to the said address. No sign. The janitor said he didn't know anything about Trust Group PRO. I've basically developed a puzzle. I understand. You ask for 500 euros in advance, promise a Pole card without kinship!"

"Return 3,300 euros plus 300 euros. Otherwise, I am going to send letters about an organized criminal group with extremist material. A group of people who help people leave the country and acquire citizenship illegally. Letters will be emailed to the Ministries of Cities: Minsk, Bucharest, Moscow, as well as to the Prosecutor General of Belarus."

In fact, we called Belarusian numbers, and when the connection was unexpectedly interrupted, we were called back by Romanian numbers.

An employee of Altaratri was recently detained in Minsk. The front office, just like Europriority, made the same phony documents about kinship with Romanians. In Belarus, he operated the numbers and connected them to the Romanians. The equipment was seized and SIM cards were found.

"For these purposes and contracts I have rented two premises: one for an office, the other where the company has installed its IP phone equipment. They asked me to give funds to the company. I passed them on through third parties the company sent to me itself. There a lot of questions from citizens who have done business with them. People couldn't contact their specialist."

Money was taken from Belarusians, and then simply disappeared, in addition to placing the personal data of their victims in the hands of third parties. No wonder the detainee also had an extremist background. The unclean Lithuanian-Polish intermediaries started talking such a good man was taken away, who fulfilled Belarusians' dreams. Although, in fact, he fulfilled the dreams of near-Romanians crooks. However, our Ministry of Information has already blocked a dozen sites, but it turns out that there are plenty more fake Romanian grannies on the Internet.
