Andrei Zhornik, deputy chief of the division for combating economic crimes of Minsk city executive committee:

The employees of the division for combating economic crimes of Frunzenski District Police Department of Minsk detained a 42-year-old resident of Zaslavl, a worker of the diagnostic station in the capital, and his accomplice, a 65-year-old pensioner, a resident of Ratomka. It was found that shortly before the inspection of the car, the man received a sheet with the number plate of the car to be passed by his accomplice. The man turned a blind eye to vehicle faults and issued a permit to allow the vehicle to participate in road traffic. The station attendant received money from his accomplice only after the vehicle had been successfully inspected. As investigators discovered, the accomplice found people who needed to pass the inspection and offered payment to the employee of the diagnostic station for a favorable resolution of the issue

The second episode was revealed in Oktyabrsky District of Minsk. The car thieves worked on a similar scenario. As a result, law enforcers caught two citizens of Minsk, taking bribes for a state inspection. The legal assessment of the actions of the detainees is provided by the Investigation Committee.
