Forgotten tradition of lucky coins revived in Rumyantsev - Paskevich palace in Gomel

From olden times it has been believed that if a young husband makes a few coins on his own, he will be able to bring his family to prosperity. However, when this tradition was born, only representatives of nobility could afford to mint their own coins. Nowadays, all newlyweds on their wedding day will be able to do that.

For this purpose a mini-forge was placed in the Winter Garden of the palace. Material for coins will be copper or aluminum. A coin made can be immediately thrown in the fountain to bring luck to the new family, or taken home to be kept as a family heirloom. By the way, the exhibition of the palace has a coin made in honor of the marriage of the Gomel estate owners - Irina and Fiodor Paskevich.
