Belarusian stand at Food Africa exhibition enjoys great success

11 декабря 2022

The major international industry exhibition Food Africa was held in the Egyptian capital this week. The Belarusian stand attracted the attention of foreign businesses. After all, products under the Made in Belarus brand are synonymous with quality.

Participation in such events is a good chance to increase the supply and strengthen our positions on foreign markets. Mutual trade between Minsk and Cairo in 2022 shows strong growth.

Food Africa is located in the international center of Egypt. There are three huge pavilions, the total exhibition area is about 50,000 square meters. It's about as big as seven soccer fields. The scale is truly impressive, but the most interesting thing is inside: about three dozen countries, hundreds of companies. And each of them brings the best products to compete for a place in the market under the African sun.

Our exposition is called The Taste of Nature. This is the most appropriate description for domestic products. Everything at Food Africa starts with a tasting. The phrase "Help yourself!" is literally everywhere.

Ali Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of Egypt:

“We know Belarusian products, their quality and variety. You have good agriculture. And things like that. I think we have to stick together to succeed.”

Our country was represented by 14 enterprises. Food is a case where we have something to offer. The Belarusian basket is complete: a wide range of dairy, meat, starchy products, as well as domestic bakery products.

Anastasia Adiyeva, deputy head of department of the dairy plant (Minsk):

There are no such products as chocolate glazed curd bars in this market. And there is no alternative here either. When visitors come, this is something new to them, they do not understand, what it is, a cake, a candy? Are they supposed to be warm, cold? And we're interested in feeling that consumer demand.

Being active here means new export opportunities. After all, there are no mere guests among the visitors to the exhibition, only accredited representatives of companies that are interested, including in food imports.
