Belarusian and Polish sides interested in preservation of Belovezhskaya Pushcha

Joint efforts for the protection of the ancient woods. A delegation of the Supreme Audit Office of the Republic of Poland, led by director of the Supreme Audit Office regional unit in Bialystok Janusz Pawelczyk, visited the State Control Committee of Belarus within the activity of the Working Group on Environmental Auditing of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) on December 18. The meeting took place in the State Control Committee, which is a member of EUROSAI. The subject of discussion was the protection and preservation of the unique forests in Belovezhskaya Pushcha and creation of a joint platform for solving common problems in this sphere. 

Belovezhskaya Pushcha is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has remained in relatively intact condition only in the territory of Belarus and Poland. Both parties are interested in preservation of the wilderness area.
