New airplane joins Belavia fleet

By Veronika Buta: A new livery Boeing-737 has arrived at Minsk National Airport today. Its cornflower design was worked on jointly by Belarusian and two US agencies. The new aircraft provides for much more spacious luggage racks, a high level of reliability and low fuel consumption, which may lead to the reduction in prices for passengers. The Boeing is designed to accommodate 189 passengers.

This is Belavia’s 17th Boeing acquired within just two years after contract signing. It will start carrying out regular flights from 20 August.

The updated Belavia eventually plans to compete with Russian airline companies and operate the country’s domestic routes. This idea will be discussed at the government level.

On Wednesday, Belavia is to launch a regular Minsk – Lvov flight.
