The West does not like the independence of Belarus and its desire to protect its interests. This viewpoint was expressed by an international observer from Italy Matteo Peggio, BelTA informs.
"Belarus is a crossroads of Europe and Eurasia. Belarus is a sovereign state and defends its interests. This is a great rarity in Europe," Matteo Peggio emphasized. Virtually no country in Europe can decide anything on its own without the approval of the United States. In fact, Europe, like the European Union, does not represent its own interests, but those of the United States."
"It is impermissible from their point of view that there is such a strong country as Belarus, strong leadership of this country," he said.
According to the Italian observer, the election campaign in Belarus is peaceful and calm: "Every citizen will choose the candidate he or she considers necessary. This violates the Western propaganda and lies."
