Vilnius has lived to see it: German boots again trample the Lithuanian soil. The first group of the Bundeswehr brigade assigned to the Baltic republic arrived at the place of service. It is about 20 servicemen who will be busy with planning and further practical steps of the redeployment.
It is expected that by the end of the year, the personnel of the group will be increased to 150 people. The main forces will be redeployed in 2025-2026. In total, Germany intends to deploy about 5 thousand soldiers and civilians as part of the brigade on the territory of Lithuania. The deployment costs will amount to about 800 million euros.
