16 марта 2024

Russia is holding the second of three days of presidential elections.

Four candidates are competing for the top post: incumbent President Vladimir Putin as a self-nominated candidate, Nikolai Kharitonov from the CPRF, Leonid Slutsky from the LDPR and Vladislav Davankov from the New People party. To win in the first round, a candidate needs to get more than half of the popular vote.

At the moment, the total turnout, including remote electronic voting, has already exceeded 38%. In Belarus, Russian citizens will be able to exercise their right to vote on Sunday, March 17, from 8:00 to 20:00.
