The first day of voting in the presidential election started in Russia. It features almost 100 thousand polling stations and hundreds of international observers from more than 100 states. The campaign is observed by more than 40 representatives of Belarus: parliamentarians, representatives of the Central Election Commission, diplomats. They noted the high voter turnout and modern technical equipment of polling stations.

For the first time the electronic voting terminals are used at the Russian presidential election. It is enough to attach a passport, the system scans the data, and the voter votes for his candidate by putting an electronic check mark. Based on the experience of observers from Belarus, the current mission is of special importance for the allied parliamentarians.

"Everyone knows what unprecedented pressure is exerted today on Belarus and Russia, on the part of the so-called collective West. And in these conditions we have observed the openness of the electoral process. We have seen the readiness of polling stations, visited the opening of polling stations, talked with the chairmen of election commissions, with observers from other countries. And it should be noted that all the conditions have been created for the Russian presidential election to be held openly and fairly," said coordinator of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly in the CIS observer mission, member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Olga Petrashova.
