Series of NATO exercises with participation of more than 20,000 military personnel begins in Lithuania

In Lithuania begins a series of intensive exercises, they will involve more than 20 thousand Lithuanian military and NATO countries. The stated purpose is to test the alliance's regional defense plans. The first maneuvers will start on Friday, April 19. 600 U.S. military personnel and 120 wheeled vehicles will be transferred from Poland.

At the same time, large-scale exercises of the German army will begin next week and continue until the end of May. In May, the American military will come to the Lithuanian training grounds. All the exercises are part of the largest maneuvers since the Cold War. More than 90,000 military personnel from 32 countries are taking part in them.
