Poland applies for participation in NATO's nuclear program

Poland is desperate to join the nuclear club. Warsaw has applied to participate in NATO's Nuclear Sharing program, Deputy Defense Minister Zalewski said. Under the program, Washington places its nuclear warheads on the airbases of NATO allies. Currently, Italy, Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands and Belgium are participating in the program. Six U.S. military bases with about 200 nuclear missiles are stationed on the territory of these countries.
