Mass detentions in U.S.

28 апреля 2024

More than 700 people have been detained in the US during pro-Palestinian protests over the past 10 days, the New York Times reports. Of those, 200 were detained on Saturday alone.

Rallies against the war in the Gaza Strip are taking place at universities across the country. Tent camps have been set up on campuses. Security forces are eliminating them by all available methods.

It should be noted that a new wave of student activity and demonstrations was provoked by the detention of 108 people by the police during the dispersal of demonstrators who set up a tent camp in the territory of Columbia University in New York on April 18.
