About 20 people were detained in Tbilisi during rallies against the law on foreign agents, three of them foreign citizens: one Russian and two Americans. The riots broke out outside the parliament building in Tbilisi, where provocateurs brought Ukrainian flags and tried to block the entrances to disrupt the voting. Radicals clashed with law enforcers, but law enforcers still managed to push back the protesters. As a result, the bill that caused so much unrest was passed in the third reading. The head of the parliamentary committee on legal issues said that the document was in line with national interests and that representatives of the ruling party were not scared of possible sanctions from the West.
