EU member states agreed to launch a military operation to ensure the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea. This was announced at a press conference by the EU representative for foreign affairs and security policy.
Borrell announced the operation a month ago. But so far, only the UK and the US have struck the Houthis. Unblocking the Red Sea did not allow this.
It is reported that Germany has already sent to the shores of Yemen - frigate "Hesse", on board of which there are about 250 soldiers of the Bundeswehr.
