28 декабря 2023

Belarusian track and field athletes can go to the Olympic Games in Paris even without being on the calendar of the international athletics federation. This was told today by the head of the Belarusian Athletics Federation Ivan Tikhon during the "Christmas Starts", which today officially opened at the Republican Olympic Training Center for Athletics. According to the functionary, we have about seven licenses, and at the start of the calendar year we expect replenishment.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Starts saw a serious competition for track and field athletes in the winter season. Today the leading Belarusian athletes, hurdler Elvira Graborenko, as well as Belarus' record holder in the pole vault, Irina Zhuk, were also included in the application. She also has an Olympic license.

Athletics is one of the most important and popular sports for our country. At the last Summer Olympics, Maxim Nedosekov won a bronze medal in high jump.
