A sensational victory was won by the women's biathlon team in the relay race. Belarus has the second gold medal at the Olympic Games! Congratulations to our team and all the fans!
The weather conditions left much to be desired, it was snowing, the wind was gusty. Nadezhda Scardino closed all the targets. Irina Krivko went the 10th to the distance. She used only one additional cartridge and also eventually closed all the targets. But after the second shooting range Irina left the shooting range on the the 3rd position. Dinara Alimbekova relayed the 5th. In a tense struggle, Daria was the best.
The women's biathlon team was congratulated on victory in the Olympic Games by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, noting that our biathlon girls presented a wonderful gift to the whole country. The Head of State also decided to award the titles of the honored master of sports to Nadezhda Scardino, Irina Krivko and Dinara Alimbekova. All 4 biathletes were awarded the Order for Personal Courage.

This success allowed the Belarusian team to rise to the 13th place in the medal standings. In total, three medals in the national team's assets including Anna Guskova's gold in freestyle and Daria Domracheva's silver in the mass start.
