Housing and utilities sector kept under control

Activities of a working group on problematic issues in the housing and utilities sector were discussed at a meeting held by President Alexander Lukashenko. The group, headed by State Control Committee Chairman, was established by order of the President. According to him, problems in this sector should be dealt with the same way as it was done with those in the construction sector. As reported by Chairman of the State Control Committee Alexander Yakobson, it is planned to adopt a series of measures aimed at reducing costs in the housing and utilities sector, for instance, to abolish mediation and recalculate standards for communal services. The changes should be introduced by May 1.
